Dental pain and at-home treatments

Tooth ache can be a nightmare. However, before calling your dentist, here are a few remedies that may help you get rid of the problem at the comfort of your house!
  1. Clove oil for pain. This is one of the oldest cures for pain. It works because of a chemical called eugenol, which has antibacterial and anesthetic properties. For using it for pain in your tooth, infuse in a ball of cotton with a mix made of ¼ teaspoon olive oil and clove oil. Place the ball of cotton inside your mouth close to where the tooth hurts. However, do not go to sleep with the ball still inside your mouth.
  2. Cough syrup. Cough syrups are known to contain a very small quantity of anesthetic (benzocaine or menthol) — helping release minor tooth aches, too. Another great solution is to apply Vick’s VapoRub on your cheek where the tooth is, then lie down on that side with a paper tissue between your cheek and the pillow.
  3. Get rid of the food particles. One of the main causes of foot pain could be food particles that are trapped in-between the teeth. In such a situation, try rinsing, flossing, or interdental brushes. This treatment can easily help you save you from going to your dentist. However, in case you have been facing the problem of food getting stuck in between your teeth a little too often then its best to speak to your dentistry Brampton.
Except for the ones that are mentioned above, there are numerous other remedies that can help you with your tooth ache. Some other effective home remedies include placing a tea bag which is hot to your projection directly. Tea has tannic acid that helps reduce swelling. Another solution is placing a slice of cucumber on the projections or applying a ball of cotton that is drenched in brandy to numb the area. Apart from this, some also suggest the use of onions, garlic, spinach, or simply rinsing the mouth with salt water to relieve tooth ache.
